In connection with the Covid 19 situation, the tours are private and will be organized for families or companies that have previous contact with each other.
1st STOP – National HISTORICAL MUSEUM – tremendous golden treasures from the thracians, collections of artefacts and fine art – timeline from the Neolithic through the ancient and medieveal history of Bulgarian lands.
2nd STOP – 1 hour guided tour BOYANA CHURCH, 10th century medieval church inaugurated during the First Bulgarian Kingdom lately served as a courtyard chapel to the local lord. It was commissioned by Sebastocrator Kaloyan and his wife Desislava during the second Bulgarian empire in the mid-13th century.
3rd STOP – the rocky terrace of “KOPITOTO” (The horse shoe), one of the most impressive views over the city proper and surrounding mountains.
Here starts the trail to the 20 m high BOYANA WATERFALL. The narrow pathway goes trough the humid beech forest typical for the altitude. Break at “Momina skala”(Virgin’s rock) hut.
